The tree-lined road along from Hebden Bridge winds gradually down to the National Trust's Hardcastle Crags, a beautiful wooded valley and local beauty spot.
On summer afternoons the sun casts a gently glowing pattern of light and dappled shadows of the interwoven branches and leaves on to the road.
One afternoon as I walked along I was especially taken with the mood of mellow warmth and shelter and made some sketches and photographs of the scene which later inspired a large drawing in willow charcoal on rough textured watercolour paper.
Printed on beautiful Somerset Velvet 100% cotton fine art paper by St Cuthberts Mill with archival inks, this Giclée Print is a reproduction of the original charcoal drawing and is signed in pencil in the lower margin. It is an open edition.
