When Calder Valley puts on her winter robes the amber mantle of autumn is put aside. You will find that the hillsides are cloaked in soft greys and browns, the woodlands full of pale mist.
My work always responds to the seasons. I'm a landscape artist and I find it impossible to ignore the ever changing cycle of nature and its effects on my part of Yorkshire.
When choosing card for the laser cut townscape I originally opted for the wonderful archival Manilla Cover Paper from supplier John Purcell Paper I already had stored in my plan chest.
I used this for the Autumn version of Tiny Town, including the townscape and all its woodland pieces.
The warm sand colour made me think of sunshine on millstone grit and the way Hebden Bridge often appears in Autumn light.
Yet on more wintery days, at dusk the buildings can look almost black. And when it's really chill, the town becomes pallid with hoar frost or blown snow.
Never wanting to turn down an opportunity for variety I decided to make Tiny Town in two more colour ways, first an off-white townscape with warm grey woodland, and second a black town with pale golden brown woods.

Tiny Town is a limited, variable edition of 35.
1-18 are Autumn, 19-27 are Winter and 28-35 are Dusk.
I can imagine the muted colours fitting in very well with a more minimalist decor, or as part of a seasonal room setting.
An Ideal gift for those who love Hebden Bridge, no framing required, ready to unbox and start arranging immediately. There's no 'right' combination, you get to choose and create the version of woodland and townscape that feels best for you.
